How CompareCrypto makes money

CompareCrypto Australia is an independent comparison website. We don't charge users anything to read our reviews or use our comparison tool. Instead, we earn a commission when readers sign up to a crypto exchange through one of our affiliate links.

This is the same business model used by most major comparison sites in Australia (including Finder, Canstar, and Mozo). It allows us to keep the site free for users while compensating us for the time it takes to research, write, and maintain accurate, up-to-date content.

How commissions work

When you click an affiliate link on this site and go on to open and fund an account with that exchange, the exchange may pay us a commission. Commission amounts vary between exchanges and are usually a flat referral payment or a percentage of trading fees over a defined period.

You pay nothing extra for using our affiliate links — the cost of any commission is borne by the exchange, not by you. In some cases, our affiliate links may even offer you a sign-up bonus or fee discount.

Why commissions do not influence our rankings

We are committed to recommending exchanges purely on merit. To make sure commissions don't bias us, we follow these editorial rules:

• Rankings are decided before commercial considerations. We score each exchange against the four pillars in our methodology: fees, security, coin selection, and customer experience.
• We do not accept payment for higher rankings, paid placements disguised as reviews, or sponsored "best of" lists.
• We list exchanges we believe deserve consideration even when we don't have an affiliate relationship with them.
• We disclose any affiliate relationship clearly on every page where an affiliate link appears.

Which exchanges we have affiliate relationships with

At the time of publication, CompareCrypto has affiliate relationships with some — but not all — of the exchanges we review. The presence or absence of an affiliate relationship has no bearing on review scores or ranking position. If we add or remove affiliate relationships, we update this page.
